Bequests

Outright Bequests - We recommend using the following language in a will to make an Outright Bequest:  "I hereby bequeath to The Choral Society of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 1031, Bridgehampton, New York 11932, the sum of $_____________ (and/or the following described property ______________)."


Residuary Bequests - We recommend using the following language in a will to make a Residuary  Bequest:  "I hereby bequeath all (or _________ percent) of my residuary estate to The Choral Society of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 1031, Bridgehampton, New York 11932."


Restricted Bequest - To ensure its enforceability, we recommend that any specific purpose be described as broadly as possible and that detailed limitations and restrictions be avoided. 


Unrestricted Bequest - We suggest using the following language in making an Unrestricted Bequest:  "I hereby bequeath to The Choral Society of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 1031, Bridgehampton, New York 11932, the sum of $___________ for its general purposes."  A bequest to the Choral Society is not subject to federal or state estate or inheritance taxes.
