Bequests

Outright Bequests – We recommend using the following language in a will to make an Outright Bequest:  “I hereby bequeath to The Choral Society of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 1031, Bridgehampton, New York 11932, the sum of $_____________ (and/or the following described property ______________).”

Residuary Bequests – We recommend using the following language in a will to make a Residuary  Bequest:  “I hereby bequeath all (or _________ percent) of my residuary estate to The Choral Society of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 1031, Bridgehampton, New York 11932.”

Restricted Bequest – To ensure its enforceability, we recommend that any specific purpose be described as broadly as possible and that detailed limitations and restrictions be avoided.

Unrestricted Bequest – We suggest using the following language in making an Unrestricted Bequest:  “I hereby bequeath to The Choral Society of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 1031, Bridgehampton, New York 11932, the sum of $___________ for its general purposes.”  A bequest to the Choral Society is not subject to federal or state estate or inheritance taxes.

Financial support enriches the community, helps us to give great performances, and offer high school student vocal and voice scholarship programs each year, awarding music scholarships to students.
