Auditions

The Choral Society of the Hamptons is beginning rehearsals for its spring concert, to be held at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church on March 18, and is seeking experienced singers to join its ranks. The society performed an acclaimed Handel’s “Messiah” in December.

Its spring concert will be under the baton of a guest conductor, Jesse Peckham, and it will feature John Rutter’s Requiem among other works. Rehearsals will be on Mondays from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church, beginning on Jan. 9. Interested singers can sit in at that time. Auditions will take place subsequently, with the society’s music director, Mark Mangini, beginning on Jan. 17.

Would-be choristers will be asked to sing a short song and to demonstrate sight-reading ability. Music should be brought to the audition, if necessary, but the society provides an accompanist. Click here for more information about joining the chorus
